Washington Department of Natural Resources state trust lands generate nearly $200 million in timber revenues annually to support beneficiaries- including schools, universities, hospitals, and more. We’re writing to share an important opportunity to help shape sustainable harvest levels on state trust lands over the next decade.
Washington DNR has released separate scoping notices to guide sustainable harvest calculations (SHC) for western Washington and eastern Washington for the next 10 years. The state agency is accepting public comments on both of these calculations by 5:00 p.m. on December 9, 2021.
Please join us in participating in this important process. Encourage the DNR to support its beneficiaries- including public schools and community services- by providing a sustainable and reliable timber supply from these state lands.
