Action Alert: Send a message to Olympia about our state-managed working forests
On July 21, the Washington State Supreme Court unanimously ruled state trust lands are working forests and must be managed for the benefit of counties, K-12 schools, fire districts, hospitals and other community services. The Washington Legislature and the Board of Natural Resources need to hear this message loud and clear. Help us send a simple message to Olympia: The Department of Natural Resources should follow the Supreme Court and take immediate action to fully implement its forest management goals, which includes providing timber needed for sustainable wood products, family wage jobs, and revenues for critical public services. Healthy, well-managed forests also provide clean air, clean water and quality habitat for wildlife.
