We believe that responsible, active, and sustainable timber management consistent with the trust mandate for Washington’s DNR managed State Trust Lands can ensure healthy forests, great public schools, quality public services, and good-paying jobs.
Management of State Trust Lands contribute to vibrant and sustainable communities, especially those in rural parts of our state. And management of these lands can also provide recreational opportunities to a broad range of users that are consistent with trust mandates.
WCSN members represent the public entities that rely on timber revenues from State Trust Lands to provide essential services. We are from school districts, fire districts, libraries, hospitals, counties, and many other beneficiary groups. We engage with DNR, legislators, and the forestry sector on policy and management issues. We are the voice of the many beneficiaries who are unable to attend the regular Board of Natural Resources meetings.
